11 Recommendations For Sephora’s 2018 VIB Sale

The temperature is rising, the sun is setting later and that can only signify one thing: Sephora’s VIB sale is just around the corner.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for any beauty junkie.

If you’re not yet part of Sephora’s Beauty Insider rewards program…um…what are you waiting for? It’s completely free and you even get a birthday present during your birthday month and a welcome packet that usually includes a coupon and a free makeover.

The top tier, VIB Rogue, is for customers who spend $1,000 a year. This would be me if I made more money and didn’t have any willpower when I passed the store. VIB Rogue members get ready to save 15% off your entire purchase April 13 – April 16 and April 20 – April 23.

If you’re shopping online don’t forget to add the code YAYROGUE to get your discount.

The middle tier is VIB, which is for customers like me who spend $350 a year trying to look put together. VIB members will also get 15% off their entire purchase April 20 – April 23.

If you’re shopping online your code is: YAYVIB.

Finally, if you spend below $350 a year, you’re considered a Beauty Insider aka the smart person who doesn’t need a $40 mascara (don’t judge me ok, I have sad lashes). You’ll save 10% off your entire purchase April 20 – April 23.

If you’re shopping online your code is: YAYINSIDER.

As a closeted make-up fiend below are eleven product recommendations by yours truly to add to your cart. Some of these I already own and some are waiting to come home to mama.

For the first time in my life 4/20 can’t come soon enough.

Invest in New Eyeshadow Palettes

Too Faced, Chocolate Eyeshadow Palette, $49

The winter has been rough on the East Coast. It’s April and we’re still wearing our thick jackets, boots, and heavy sweaters. Everyone is ready for Spring weather. Until that happens a great way to incorporate more color and life into your look is with fun vibrant eyeshadows.

Be A Mermaid & Make Waves, $42

Two popular make-up palettes to pick-up during the sale is the Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette  by Too Faced and the new Be A Mermaid & Make Waves palette by Tarte. Both of these brands are known for being super pigmented. You could mix and match the glitter shades with the mattes and nudes for an everyday look and then swipe shades like lagoon and livin lavish for a night out.

Urban Decay’s ‘Naked Petite Heat,’ $29

If you’re not a fan of shimmery eyeshadows or blues and greens, try out the Naked Petite Heat palette by Urban Decay. These six eyeshadows are more on the neutral side so you could use them for an everyday look. The browns and oranges also compliment brown eyes and caramel skin tones nicely. Beauty guru Adelaine Morin is known to use this palette on a daily basis. As an added bonus since this is the smaller version of the full sized palette, it’s super compact so it won’t take up a lot of room in your bag.

Get Rid of Your Fraying Brushes

Minutes to Mermaid Brush Set, $42

After washing your brushes regularly–you know you’re supposed too–fall out is inevitable. Unfortunately, make-up brushes aren’t meant to last forever but you shouldn’t be buying them every six months. A good brush set can last you a few years but there are so many cute ones choosing a set to commit to is the problem.

Like hello, Tarte, what do you think you’re doing coming out with this cute Minutes to Mermaid Brush Set?

Goal Getters Contour Brush Set by Tarte, $44

If you’re going to buy new make-up brushes you might as well buy them on sale and by a good brand. I talked about this Goal Getters Contour Brush Set in my January 2018 favorites. They’re also from Tarte and after nearly four months of regular use I don’t have a negative thing to say about them. I haven’t experienced any fall out and they still look brand new even though I’ve washed them several times.

If You’re Willing to Splurge

Matte Creme Lip Crayon Collection by Bite Beauty, $135

If you’re willing to splurge this eighteen deluxe collection of Matte Lip Crayons by Bite Beauty is worth every penny. The shades vary from vibrant reds, dark plums, peaches, pinks and nudes.

Bite is the holy grail of lipsticks. I have a few of these shades so I know firsthand these are long lasting and super pigmented. I love to wear aubergine during the winter and blood orange for a night out. I always get tons of compliments for both!

This sells out fast so if you’re interested you’re going to want to be by your computer screen the moment the sale starts since the set is online only. If you only want to try a few shades out you can also purchase singles of their lip crayons here.

Glow-up with These Highlighters

Amrezy Highlighter by Anastasia Beverly Hills, $28

If you’re wearing make-up these days a highlighter is a necessity. A nice glow can give your look an extra oomph but if you’re not careful you can also look like you’re headed out to the club at 10 AM instead of the office. So be mindful about how much you’re using.

The Amrezy Highlighter by Anastasia is such a pretty gold color that will compliment a variety of skin tones. If you’re darker like me it’s going to look more like a light champagne, which is not a bad thing!

Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter by Fenty Beauty, $34

If we’re talking about highlighters I obviously have to add the most popular one ever created. I tried Trophy Wife (pictured above) in the store and my sister also has it so I don’t have to buy it for myself. The price point is kind of high for a color that’s this dramatic.

The Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter by FENTY BEAUTY is super pigmented, super trendy and a must-buy if you can get it on sale. I’m also a big fan of the colors ginger Binge and Moscow Mule. The colors are still pigmented but they’re a little bit more subtle for an everyday look compared to Trophy Wife.

Bareminerals Invisible Glow Powder Highlighter, $28

Of course if you’re looking for an everyday highlighter my number one recommendation is the Bareminerals Invisible Glow Powder highlighter. I use this everyday to pull my entire look together. It gives a nice subtle glow. If I look really tired I swipe this under my eyes after foundation to fake looking awake.

Experiment with Top Skin Care Sets

Tatcha Bestsellers Set, $60

In order to take full advantage of being a Sephora VIB member I got my make-up done at the beginning of the year in the store. I didn’t go for any particular reason besides wanting to try new make-up and to learn some new techniques from a make-up artist.

It was a slow day so the woman doing my make-up decided she would go all out and do an entire skin care routine as well. A thirty minute session ended up taking an hour and a half.

What she put on my face was magnificent but when I saw the price of the items my heart nearly stopped. Tatcha is definitely a luxury brand but the products truly work. The winter has been harsh in New York so I’ve had a lot of issues with dry skin, flaking and redness. Three things no girl wants to deal with. Suffice to say my make-up application wasn’t looking the best because I didn’t have a good base to work off of.

She applied the cleansing oil, the water cream and dewy skin mist to my face and I felt like a whole new woman. The dryness and flakes were gone for the entire day and for the first time in months my make-up actually looked good. My skin is also extremely sensitive and I found this did not irritate it at all.

Since I can’t afford the full price bottles I’ll be picking up the Tatcha Bestsellers Set during the sale.

Peter Thomas Roth Mask-a-Holic Kit, $75

I raved about the Peter Thomas Roth Mask Kit  in my January Favorites post. These masks are still something I use weekly! My favorite is the pumpkin enzyme mask because it helps remove the dead dry skin from around my nose and the gold mask makes my face look refreshed. A little also goes a long way. I’ve used the pumpkin enzyme mask almost religiously and I’m still not half-way done with the container.

If you’re only interested in investing in one mask I’d highly recommend the pumpkin mask. It smells just like pumpkin pie and it’s by far my favorite. It’s great for getting rid of dead skin.

Let me know if you have tried any of these products or if you’re planning on buying them. Feel free to also share your favorite products with me. What should I buy? What am I missing from my collection?
